Ed Morales, MPP, MSW, LICSW, is an award-winning social worker, trainer, and educator based in Minneapolis, MN. An adoptive parent and passionate advocate for systems change, Ed serves as Training Supervisor with Hennepin County Children and Family Services and is a Certified Trainer and Consultant with Think:Kids at Massachusetts General Hospital. He is also Adjunct Faculty at St. Mary’s University and Metropolitan State University in Denver and Board Chair of Foster Advocates, a nonprofit advancing justice and well-being for people with foster care experience.
From 2017 to 2025, Ed served as Community Faculty with the University of Minnesota’s School of Social Work, where he taught foundational, macro and advanced clinical MSW courses and mentored emerging social workers. He provides clinical consultation and supervision with Cedar Hill Therapy, and through his private practice, Socorro Consulting, offers training, supervision, and professional development rooted in trauma-informed, abolitionist, and equity-centered frameworks.
His leadership and pedagogy have been recognized with the 2025 Social Worker of the Year Award from the Minnesota Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers and a 2024 National Association of Counties Achievement Award.
In fall 2025, Ed will begin his PhD in Social Work at the University of Denver, where his research will focus on child welfare, abolition, moral injury, foster care, and permanency.
